Thanks, worked great for Word 2007, I thought my mouse was faulty as I couldn’t select any table cells.

After a so called registry clean-up by Ashampoo, my MS Word document (*.doc) in Word 2007 would open with all text selected. Placing the mouse cursor anywhere would not work. I restarted the laptop (WINXP SP3) and it seems to be working but I will have a look at the registry as you suggested.
